Supplier Portal Hub Design & Implementation

ArcBlue was engaged by this New Zealand Local government council involving a collaborative approach to:

-Producing a portal ‘wireframe’,

-Collaboration & refinement of content and,

-Project delivery and support.

Due to the regional location, competition from other organisations, and supply market constraints, this NZ local council was experiencing a lack of tender responses and supplier availability. The Council was also receiving feedback from local suppliers about lack of visibility of upcoming work opportunities, particularly in the infrastructure and roading space. Wanting to increase engagement with local suppliers, the council partnered with ArcBlue to co-design and implement a Supplier Portal, utilising ArcBlue’s myBuy hub solution.

A collaborative approach was taken to work with the council and key stakeholder groups. This included:

  • A project team formed, with weekly project meetings scheduled.
  • A project plan was agreed between parties, with key steps and milestones.
  • ArcBlue’s portal ‘wireframe’, including key modules and overall site look and feel.
  • External brand and communications input.
  • Multiple site reviews.
  • A supplier focus group was held to test and validate the ‘supplier experience’.
  • A consolidated change log.
  • A final UAT was conducted with project team members, using structured test scripts.

As a result, ArcBlue delivered the following to the council:

  • Supplier Portal – an online technology platform that allows current and potential suppliers to engage with Council and register their interest and capabilities for future work.
  • The Supplier Portal incorporates: an open access section with modules including: a news carousel, Working with us, Health and safety, Register your interest, About the council.
  • A login area with modules including: Update your details, Capability
  • Admin access modules: Inbox, Approvals, Reporting.
  • A digital form and workflow for Supplier H&S approval/ assurance was co-designed and developed. But was replaced by an outsourced client solution.
