What project has been the most fun / the meatiest to work on at ArcBlue?

I was lucky enough to be part of the team from ArcBlue that worked on the project to help the South Australian Government procure the medical equipment for the new Royal Adelaide Hospital that opened in 2017. This was a once in a generation project in South Australia and it was an extremely challenging, but fun and rewarding project to be a part of. One that I am proud to now be able to have listed on my CV.

How do you spend most of your days?

My current engagement is primarily in the project contracting space and I am outposted to the South Australian Governments Infrastructure and Transport Department helping them deliver high value and complex infrastructure projects for a variety of government agencies such as Education, Health and Corrections.

What are you working on at the moment?

I am currently working on procuring the professional services consultants required to design a new state of the art High School in the Adelaide Central Business District.

What trends do you see in your work?

At the moment, with Covid-19 stressed supply chains and labour resources, we are witnessing rapid increases in costs and project timeframes.

What do you love best about procurement?

I love the variety of work I am exposed to across a wide range of industries and the opportunity to interact with and develop relationships with stakeholders. It’s such a rewarding job. I get to work in a fast-paced profession, creatively solve problems for clients and most importantly what I do has a measurable impact on an organisation’s success.

What’s the one thing you wish everyone would understand about procurement?

Contrary to what most people think, procurement is not just about obtaining the cheapest price!

What are you currently trying to upskill in?

I am in the final stages of completing a Diploma in Managing Complexity in Projects.

What’s the reason you love to work at ArcBlue?

I love the people I get to work with both within my office and across all the regions. They truly are a fantastic group of like-minded professionals. I also love the variety of projects and work that I am exposed to in my role. You just can’t get that type of exposure anywhere else I know of.

What is something not many people know about you?

I am an avid runner and a bit of a fitness fanatic! I love going out as many times a week as I can to go running and one of my favourite places to do it is around the beautiful linear pathways of Adelaide’s River Torrens. I am also a religious participant in my local weekly Parkrun. You’ll see me there come rain, hail or shine!
