Shane is an experienced Procurement Leader who brings a pragmatic approach to value delivery with more than 20 years’ experience in the areas of heavy asset and infrastructure procurement.

Between 2Jan 013 and Feb 2018 Shane was the Chief Procurement Officer / Head of Supply Chain at Sydney Water where he delivered major procurement reform this reform program included redefining the procurement partnership and delivery model for infrastructure procurement.

The key focus of the Sydney Water Infrastructure Procurement reform included establishing a capital procurement delivery team, implementing a new capital procurement framework, contracts and templates, reshaping the market engagement and supplier partnership deliver model and implementing several supporting procurement category strategies to improve the time and cost of the capital program delivery.

Related heavy asset category experience includes establishing panels for Engineering and Industrial Services, outsourcing Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Services and establishing preferred supplier agreements Industrial and General Consumables, Waste Management, Equipment Hire, Personal Protective Equipment, Maintenance Repair and Operation Products such as pumps, values and pipes.

During Shane’s time at Sydney Water he was invited to speak at several Water Industry Conferences and hosted serval visits to Sydney Water as a result of industry request to share Sydney Water’s Procurement Reform journey, the customer value that has been delivered and the key lessons learnt.

Shane’s infrastructure procurement experience is not just limited to Sydney Water as he has delivered infrastructure procurement reform at Caltex Australia (2006-11) and in the past 2 years has worked with Transport NSW, Health Infrastructure NSW, Schools Infrastructure NSW, Department of Finance NSW and City West Water on several Infrastructure Procurement opportunities.
