Meet the team

Chris has 20 years’ experience in procurement, shared services and outsourcing with multi-national resources companies. Chris has vast category experience such as engineered equipment, supply chain and logistics, and packaging materials, to Indirect categories including facilities management, professional services, engineering services and HR services.

Most recently, he held the position of Senior Manager Functions Supply with BHP Billiton supporting US$660m of expenditure in BHP’s corporate functions. He managed a procure-to-pay transactional team, driving dramatic improvement in performance against KPI’s including spend-on-contract, purchase order automation, invoice automation and on-time invoice payment. He also established and managed a category management team which achieved US$38m of savings in its first year.

Whilst with ExxonMobil, Chris outsourced engineering design and construction services for the Mobil Oil retail construction program across Australia and New Zealand using an innovative risk sharing “managed services” model. He then led the outsourcing of maintenance services for the 10,000-site ExxonMobil retail service station and convenience store network across Asia Pacific and Japan to a single provider, which incorporated a profit sharing compensation model that incentivised development and implementation of improvement ideas. He was a member of the supplier relationship management steering committee for outsourced real estate services for ExxonMobil’s retail network across Asia Pacific.

Chris has a civil engineering background and enjoys bringing structured problem solving methodologies and project management discipline to address root causes of problems to ensure effective and sustainable solutions that address client needs.
