Due Diligence Framework and Review
The Director of Supply Chain and Property, as a newly appointed role, was charged with addressing the process for assessing potentially high-risk suppliers/partners. This activity was increasing in 2021 with the digital transformation, diversifying business operations and growing number of offshore direct suppliers. ArcBlue provided procurement support activity for this client from 2020-2021.
Sponsored by the CFO, the Director of Supply Chain and Property engaged ArcBlue to support a desk top due diligence review of the identified suppliers. A collaborative approach with stakeholders was taken due to:
1. Identify the profile of “high-risk” suppliers that should be assessed
2. Develop a due diligence framework and process
The process was then trialled with the business and refined.
For each individual due diligence request, a brief sheet was completed by the client. This was then communicated to the ArcBlue consultant to commence the desktop review. Within an agreed timeframe, a written report was produced, outlining risk assessment based on the information available. The report indicated recommended corrective actions or areas for further discussion/investigation with the supplier. Actions were then discussed internally with the key stakeholders, to agree next steps and ensure acceptable risk levels were maintained.
ArcBlue delivered:
- Due diligence framework which was endorsed by the CFO
- Due diligence reports with assessment criteria and recommended actions
- Due diligence report template
- Brief sheet template
- Status tracker (for internal client management)
- Risk by category matrix
